Twitch x Tinovation AMA

On May 18, 2026, Tinovation hosted a Twitch x Tinovation AMA with Marc Szanto, a Senior Developer Relations professional at Twitch.

The AMA gave members a look into developer relations, customer success, and the work that goes into supporting developers who build tools, extensions, and communities around Twitch. Marc shared how his role connects technical work with communication, product decisions, and long-term relationships with developers and companies.

What stood out most was how Marc explained the customer success side of developer relations. Not every feature request is automatically worth building, even when it comes from an important customer. Teams have to think about whether a request creates enough value, fits the product, and has a strong return on investment.

Marc also talked about working with both individual developers and larger companies, including Amazon and Discord. He broke down his work at Twitch in a clear and approachable way, helping members understand how developer-facing roles can combine software, communication, and business strategy.

What Stood Out

Marc explained how developer relations sits between engineering, product, and customer support. That mix made the conversation especially useful for students, since it showed that technical careers can take many forms beyond traditional coding roles.

He also shared career advice for students interested in software and developer relations, and he brought Tinovation Twitch merch for the club. About 20 people attended the AMA, which gave the event a strong turnout and a very engaged audience.

Takeaways

This AMA showed that software careers are not limited to writing code all day. Developer relations requires technical knowledge, but it also depends on explaining ideas clearly, understanding what developers need, and making thoughtful product decisions.

Tinovation thanks Marc for spending time with our club and sharing an inside look at his work at Twitch.
